Jen Tays counselling will equip you with invaluable life skills during the sessions, and help you deal with difficult situations and/or challenging personalities. I can also help you learn effective way sof managing anger and other emotions. Issues are discussed in a private fashion with the trained counsellors at my center. You are never pressured to reveal anything, and me and my colleagues can help provide tools, skills, and strategies that may be beneficial in your situation. Other options of therapy are available, including hypnotherapy and psychotherapy. I am trained in a variety of techniques.

Sessions I offer

There’s a range of options for you to choose from, and each is tailored to your needs. View the available sessions below:

Brief Therapy
For those that are short on time, these brief therapy sessions are sure to be beneficial. Lasting between 3-4 weeks, these sessions cover one of the following options:
  • Anger Management
  • Assertiveness Training
  • Anxiety Control
  • Confidence Building
  • Relaxation and Resilience
Your needs are met during these sessions. For example, I can do these on your lunch break if it suits you. These sessions often help you feel positive and in control, allowing you to live your life to the fullest.

Anxiety and Panic
This programme works with long-term anxiety issues and severe panic attacks. This includes hypnotherapy, or a lighter relaxation method if you prefer. Once you request this service, I can usually see you within 10 days.

Phobias/OCD/Intrusive Thoughts
My EMDR therapy option is particularly helpful in improving the above conditions. Phobias and OCD have been known to reduce in intensity once this therapy programme is completed.

Couple counselling
Relationship counselling can be extremely beneficial. Everyone struggles in their relationship, yet often the simplest solutions provide the best results. Couple counselling can be made available at evenings or weekends when necessary.


Child and adolescent counselling

Counselling for all children to Seniors. 

The counselling sessions are totally unique to each individual. We can discuss what your needs are in more depth at your first initial appointment.

I am familiar with counselling many different people and I am aware that each person is totally different to the next, not just in their circumstances but in their requirements.
 It is important that you feel totally comfortable with your counsellor, this is why I offer a free short meeting on phone or online so that if you wish you can say hello even before you choose to book an initial meeting.

Children / Adolescents
The child counselling sessions I offer are age appropriate, and can also be taken online. I will discuss with you first about your child in a short free meeting, and I can explain to you the way I work.I aim to help young ones and adolescents to discover who they are by fully exploring their thoughts and feelings in a  'light' environment with the aim of helping them find their own path towards a more positive future.

After this free session if you wish to go ahead with the therapy, the adult fee is £70 for half hour and £130 for full hour

The initial appointment

The initial appointment

Start therapy by  requesting an initial appointment; this is usually for a full hour. At this meeting  we will take a thorough background assessment and we can discuss your situation to gain an understanding of your aims. 
We may also discuss options and different strategies. Feel free to ask any questions you like or feel you need to know in order to understand the process and what therapy entails. 

Some times appropriate therapy may be incorporated into your first session so that you can experience the benefits and you will start to get an idea of how things will be as we relate with each other and build up our therapeutic relationship together.
The fee is the same for the initial first appointment / assessment as the ongoing sessions.

At your assessment and indeed at any time during your therapy you are free to cancel any future sessions and call a halt on your therapy. If I feel, on a rare occasion, that I am not the right person for you, I will suggest this to you and will suggest a different avenue that may be more suitable for you.
